4S Saigon Ecom Coffee Chat #2 — Build an app for your shop with Claude Code
Each seller brings one real shop pain, leaves with one working mini-app. 10 seats so every attendee gets 1-1 coaching across three hours. No code required.
Updated:
When
Saturday, June 6, 2026 · 14:00–17:00 sharp. Doors close at 14:05 — small room, we start on time.
Where
Grand Marina Saigon — Lake tower (Marriott Residences). 2 Ton Duc Thang, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1 — at the foot of Ba Son Bridge, by the Saigon River, next to Vinhomes Golden River. Come to the Lake lobby; someone will meet you and guide you up.
How many
10 seats, first come first served. Free — pay for your own coffee. Bring a charged laptop.
This session has wrapped
A small room of builders showed up.
What this is
Session 2 picks up where session 1 left off, but flips the format: instead of Chris demoing three tools to a roomful of people, this time each attendee builds one mini-app for their own shop, with Chris coaching 1-1.
Why drop from 20 to 10? Because for every person to actually leave with something running on their machine, I have to circle the room and coach each one. 20 doesn’t fit. 10 does.
Who this is for
Shopify sellers, agency operators, or anyone new to ecommerce — no code required. You’ll need:
- A shop that’s running (or being set up), and one specific pain you want to solve.
- A laptop (Mac or Windows) with a full charge.
- 30 minutes before the workshop: a pre-work setup video (sent after registration).
If you’ve used Claude Code before, you’re still welcome — session 2 doesn’t repeat session 1. You’ll build deeper, not show off.
What you’ll build
When you arrive, you pick one of five archetypes — all buildable in 90 minutes with Claude Code:
| # | Archetype | Real shop pain | Output |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | Product description generator | Writing EN/VI descriptions for hundreds of SKUs is exhausting | Form → paste name + spec → generated description |
| B | Competitor price watcher | Tracking competitor prices across a URL list | Cron scrape → dashboard with price history |
| C | Review / feedback inbox | Reading reviews scattered across sources | Inbox with tags + filter + search |
| D | Order / customer mini-CRM | Tracking VIP customers, purchase history | List + detail + notes |
| E | Content calendar + caption AI | Scheduling FB/IG posts, writing captions | Calendar + AI caption generator |
Bring one archetype + a short spec about your shop — leave with a personalized app for your shop.
3-hour agenda
| Time | Block | You leave with |
|---|---|---|
| 14:00–14:15 | Welcome + setup check. 1-minute Claude Code demo | Environment that runs |
| 14:15–14:35 | ”What’s your shop’s pain?” — pick one of five archetypes | One locked-in pain |
| 14:35–14:55 | One-page spec — fill in: who uses / input / output / “good enough is” | One clear spec |
| 14:55–15:05 | ☕ Break | |
| 15:05–15:40 | First build together — paste spec → Claude Code → open browser → click test | Locally running app |
| 15:40–16:10 | Iterate — tweak 2-3 things for yourself. Learn the want → say → see → fix wording loop | Iterate-flow fluency |
| 16:10–16:30 | When Claude “keeps getting it wrong” — paste the error, narrate, don’t hand-fix code | Debug skill |
| 16:30–16:50 | Demo round — each attendee shows their app for 30 seconds | Cross-learning from the room |
| 16:50–17:00 | Roadmap for after + Q&A | 5 principles + cheat sheet of 15 prompts |
5 principles you take home
- Describe the problem, not the solution — “I need X”, not “use React or Vue”.
- Claude is a junior dev, you’re the PM — don’t argue, review.
- You only know by running it, not by reading code — open the browser, click, narrate if wrong.
- When it breaks → narrate, don’t guess — paste the error, describe what you were doing.
- One memory file is gold —
CLAUDE.md= Claude’s brain for next time.
What you take home
- One mini-app for your shop running on your laptop.
- 5 principles on A5 paper, stick it on your monitor.
- Cheat sheet of 15 prompts — “add field”, “change color”, “add filter”, “fix this error”, etc.
- Starter template Next.js + SQLite in gemlabs/toolkits — clone it to build other apps.
- 10 Saigon builders working on this stuff — the room is part of what you take home.
Pre-work (~30 minutes self-setup)
After registration, you’ll get an email with:
- A 10-minute pre-work video: install Node, VS Code, Claude Code, log in.
- A one-page spec template to print.
- Link to the 10-person Slack/Zalo group for fast questions before the workshop.
